These are studies of the small lives that surround us—creatures often overlooked, moving quietly through the world. I am drawn to their particularity, beauty, fragility, and persistence, as well as the mystery and intricacy of their anatomical structures. Looking closely at them becomes a way of thinking about our own place within the larger web of life. The slow movement of the images across the page in this context becomes a part of the work. They pass like creatures passing through a landscape—appearing, disappearing, and inviting us to pause and look again.
